程潜是湖南和平解放的重要直接推动者，程潜公馆具有较高的历史价值，代表了民国时期长沙民居建筑的典型风格。2005年，程潜公馆被长沙市政府列入该市第一批23处历史旧宅保护维修改造名录，2019年1月，程潜公馆被认定为省级文物保护单位。 2016年11月，民革中央下发通知，公布将湖南和平解放史事陈列馆（程潜公馆）命名为民革党史教育基地。2021年4月，由中共长沙市委宣传部列为长沙市爱国主义教育基地。

      Cheng Qian is an important direct promoter of the peaceful liberation of Hunan. Cheng Qian mansion has high historical value and represents the typical style of Changsha residential buildings during the Republic of China. In 2005, Chengqian mansion was included in the list of the first batch of 23 historical old houses to be protected, repaired and reconstructed by Changsha municipal government. In January 2019, Chengqian mansion was recognized as a provincial cultural relics protection unit. In November 2016, the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the people’s Republic of China issued a notice announcing that the Hunan Museum of peaceful liberation history (Chengqian mansion) would be named as the educational base of the history of the Revolutionary Committee of the people’s Republic of China. In April, 2021, it was listed as Changsha patriotism education base by the Publicity Department of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee.
